After listening to the song about a thousand times, I started putting together a treatment to capture the ideas the band had. Early on, they thought it would be cool to incorporate the color green as much as possible, since it was part of the visual identity for their upcoming album. So, it made sense to shoot outdoors, and we began filming at the bassist’s summer house. After the first edit, we all felt that the film was missing some storytelling. After reflecting on it for a while, we found an old film reel that perfectly matched the spirit of the video and told the story of a student setting out to experience the world, and we decided to edit it into the film.
